This is the third time that Greg has done such a walk and this time, he is using the walk to raise awareness and funds for autism.
Greg is a great supporter of literacy and its ability to help people overcome obstacles in their lives. He has also become engaged with the problem of autism particularly through a member of his electorate who has a son with autism. As a result, funds raised by Greg will go to Autism Victoria and Abacus Learning Centre.
Funds received by Autism Victoria will go towards the 1000 Book Campaign. This is funding new resources to be added to the Autism Victoria Library, which is a wonderful resource for individuals, parents and families coping with the challenges of an ASD. Greg wishes to support the 1000 Books Campaign that we are running, to continue to add to the Autism Victoria Library to provide parents, families and individuals with the resources they need to help them overcome the challenges that autism presents them with.
Autism Victoria is delighted that Greg has chosen this campaign as one of the recipients of funds raised through the walk. Murray Dawson-Smith, Autism Victoria’s CEO says: “Greg’s walk will be a wonderful boon to the awareness of Autism Spectrum Disorders, particularly in the Electorate of Flinders and will make a very real difference to those who are affected through donations to the 1000 Book Campaign. We are very grateful to Greg for this wonderful initiative and we wish him all the best for the walk.”
