Victorian Autism Conference 2010Autism Victoria is delighted to announce the forthcoming Victorian Autism Conference on August 5th & 6th at Rydges Bell City Conference Centre, Preston. The aim and content of the conference has been determined in response to a recent survey conducted by Autism Victoria. This survey identified a range of key areas in which both families and professional members expressed a strong need for practical strategies. Specifically, the need for strategies that enhance support for and outcomes with individuals with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) was consistently highlighted. Consequently, the conference will provide families and professionals alike with an important opportunity to build on current practice to support individuals with ASD. It is aimed squarely at demonstrating and implementing best practice strategies for supporting individuals and consequently has been streamed into four age-specific cohorts (early childhood, childhood, adolescence and adulthood). This is a conference built around practical strategies; whether you are a professional in the field or a family supporting an individual with an ASD, the conference will offer you a range of unique, creative and evidence-based strategies.
Call for PapersThe call for papers for the Victorian Autism Conference is currently open. As the conference is aimed at practical strategies and information for families, individuals, and professionals, we are calling for papers in the areas identified by our members. Information about submitting your proposal is available here. The closing date for submissions is Friday 26th February 2010.
