AUTISM RESEARCH GROUP

What is the Autism Research Reference Group?

The Autism Research Reference Group was convened by Autism Victoria in 2003. Its objectives are to

  • facilitate high quality research into Autism Spectrum Disorders,
  • promote collaboration and co-operation between autism researchers,
  • facilitate dissemination of research outcomes, and
  • market the value of research to the autism community.

What is Autism Victoria doing to support Research?

One of the main problems faced by Autism Spectrum Disorder researchers are obtaining sufficient funds for autism research and recruiting research participants. Autism Victoria has developed a Research Participant Register to help researchers in Victoria recruit participants for thier projects. This register holds details of families and individuals willing to participate in research projects. Researchers will be able to search the list using specific, non-identifying criteria such as age and diagnosis.

If you are a researcher and would like access to the Research Participant Register, please download and fill out this form, and send it to Josephine Barbaro, j.barbaro@latrobe.edu.au.

The Current Projects section of the Autism Victoria website has provided an opportunity for researchers to promote their work and encourage collaboration between research teams.

How can you be involved?
